The Running of the bulls happens in Spain, from July 6 – 14 every year. The most famous one, is in Pamplona, which is called the San Fermin Festival.
Pamplona is located in the north of Spain, and during the San Fermin festival, the city becomes the most alive.
How to watch the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona?
If you are not running, but you want to witness the crazy people running, the best way to watch the running of the bulls is renting a balcony spot. Make sure you booked in well advance.
There are public buses running 24 hours. Try to stay in a hotel near the festival. It is very hard to take a taxi, and sometimes they aren’t even working.
The Running of the bulls happens every morning at 8:00, and takes only about 2-3 minutes from start to finish. You will hear a shot, which signals, the gates have been opened and the first group of bulls is out. The second shot tells you that the rest of the bulls have left, and they are all coming. People will start running like crazy, haha.

What should you wear to the Running of the Bulls?
The traditional clothes for the San Fermin Festival is white outfit, red scarf and waistband. If you don’t want to get your clothes damaged, or if you don’t have your whole outfit, don’t worry about it. You can buy them there, and they are inexpensive. There are also fancy outfits for the fashionista or girly girls!
Tips: Watch your drinks, stay safe, especially if you are a girl. Always stay close to your friends. It’s very easy to get lost in the crowd, as everybody looks the same, wearing the same clothing style and colors.
We had so much fun admiring fireworks, drinking sangria and of course watching the running of the bulls! For our safety we decided to not run, but it was very exciting. The energy and happiness of people from Spain, and all over the world, are contagious! It was an unique experience and a trip of a lifetime!
