Adventuring in Roatan, A Hidden Gem of Honduras

Roatan is a Caribbean Island, located off the North Coast of Honduras in Central America.  It is an incredible place, with white sand beaches, crystal clear water, palm trees, delicious food, nice people,  and calm nights.  The best part of all: it is not full of tourists. We stayed in West Bay, one of the more lively places of Roatan.

If you are planning a trip to Central America, do not miss the chance to visit this Island.   It is also very close to Belize, which was once called British Honduras.

Roatan and Belize share the second largest coral reef in the world after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.  It is one of the most spectacular places to go scuba diving in the Caribbean.  There are boats on the beach waiting for you, to go on an adventure.  You can ride a jet ski, go parasailing, banana boat or just relax at the pool or on the beach.

There is also a cool place at Anthony’s Key Resort, where you can swim with dolphins, in the ocean.  There is plenty of space for them to swim and they are still living in their natural habitat.

We had so much fun adventuring in Roatan, from jumping out of abandoned boats, to relaxing in water by the shore. This place is a real hidden gem in the Caribbean!
