Exploring Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls are a group of large waterfalls located on the Niagara River in eastern North America, between the Great Lakes Erie and Ontario, on the border between the Canadian province of Ontario and New York State.

The name “Niagara” comes from an Iroquois word meaning “water of thunder.”

We walked through the park, to visit the waterfalls.  There are 3 waterfalls: American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls and the Canadian “Horseshoe” Falls.

From the park, we went to Clifton Hill. Here you will find hotels, restaurants, bars, casinos, shopping, souvenir stores; almost everything is located on Clifton Hill.

In front of Clifton Hill there is a departure point, to the Maid of the Mist. It offers a boat ride along the waterfalls.  There are also kiosks that sell passes for several tourist attractions and boat rides.  These are only available in the summer.

When is the best time to visit Niagara Falls?

The best time to visit Niagara Falls, is in September, when the weather is warm and very nice.  It is also the best time to avoid the crowds.

We recommend making a stop in the city, to get to know this beautiful place. The waterfalls are very impressive.  If you have time ,spend more than a day there, as there are other interesting things to do and see.

How to get there to Niagara Falls?

Fly to into New York’s Buffalo Niagara International Airport (USA side). The park It’s only 2o minute from Buffalo, or by car if you are on a road trip.
