Wake up early. The best time to take good pictures is very early in the morning. Wear comfortable shoes and get ready to walk. You can visit many places by foot.
The most famous monuments are located in the National Mall, such as The Lincoln Memorial, U.S Capitol, Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument and the National World II War Memorial.
Visit the Smithsonian Institution, which is the biggest museum of research in the world. Other notable museums include the Spy Museum, Holocaust Memorial Museum, News Museum and the National Building Museum.
If you are traveling with kids, one of the most recommended museums are The National Air and Space Museum. You can also include a visit to the National Zoo.
A tour in the White House: Contact your representative in Congress to request the tour. Requests should be submitted at least three weeks in advance and up to six months before the trip, if possible.
Visit the neighborhood of Georgetown: There are many boutiques, beautiful architecture and you can walk along the historic Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. Georgetown is known as one of the best gastronomic destinations in D.C.
